BEP Requests Funding from County

The Brookings Empowerment Project continues with it battle against Mental illness Stigma by meeting with the Brookings County Commissioners recently. The meeting took place during the regular County Commission meeting and was broadcast locally. The purpose of the meeting was twofold: first, to inform the Commission about BEP and what it is doing in the community; second, to request funding support from the county commission for our BEP House Project.

This BEP project is a proposed pilot in the community for transitional housing for individuals coming back into community from in-patient care elsewhere. This is our first step with the Commission. If you know any of the Commissioners personally and are supportive of our
efforts, please contact them directly and express your support for their funding of BEP. You can also get more information to use with your communication to them from our website at empowerbrookings.org.

If you are aware of other funding organizations or individuals, please approach them for us and help us get their support.  We are available to present to other groups if given a week’s notice. Blessings in the Xmas season and New Year.
